This is the presentation that I gave at the BIGOmaha Conference in Omaha, Nebraska on May 8, 2009. I had such a great time at this conference. Big thank yous to everyone involved in putting on such a spectacular event. Jeff and Dusty did an amazing job, and it was so much fun being able to hang out with all of the people who came out to the Koneko center. I also had a great time spending time with my friends and fellow speakers who both attended and presented. I hope you enjoy my talk – any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Maybe talk to the people in charge of E3 and tell them to let the public DL demos to increase gamer transparency eh, eh? A nerd can only dream /sighs
Great, great talk Jeffrey.
You know what I think is weird? In a lot of ways, it feels like your discussions are just teaching people how to be human again. This is all stuff that, if whittled down to a person-to-person relationship, is pretty much common sense. And I love that about Threadless – when you guys started out, it was without a lot of business acumen, so you did what you knew: how to be a good friend.
I think that’s something a lot of companies can learn from. Hell, you can even hear it in the insults: “faceless corporation”.
Being human isn’t just a good financial goal, I think it’s also a good ethical goal. I know I could sleep a lot better at night if I knew I was being a good friend to my customers.
Thanks, Chris. You totally get it. If you treat your customers as your friends, they will respond in kind.
Awesome talk, Jeffrey. Can’t wait for the version of it you’re giving at Techstars next month.
This is great. I’m very happy of our generation. There’s good hope about the future with people like you. Thanks for sharing
I am brand new to this social media/twitter/building communities/being human world.
I feel like I have spent my intire life looking for you. Yes, you jeffrey, but also all of the real people who cut a vein every day and let their blood spill all over my computer screen.
I feel so blessed to me a part of it.

Thank you for sharing the video! I enjoyed watching you speak. Interesting to know how the “critique”-section came to life.
Yeah, and it definately gives me goose bumps how strong the bondage in the threadless-community is!

Transparency, accessibility and a guy called Jeffrey…
I have just seen a talk from Jeffrey Kalmikoff at the BIG Omaha Conference. Jeffrey is one of those forward-thinking creatives, entrepreneurs and innovators that gave a presentation in order to invite others to think BIG.
